Fresh and healthy, Organic Food From The Garden
Producing food from the garden is more than just a matter of frugality. Home grown food coming directly from garden to kitchen (especially when used as raw food) is fresh, wholesome and nutritious.
Trouble is that all this food-from-the-garden stuff sounds good, but probably means hours of back-breaking work when you have too much on your plate already – Right?
After more than 30 years of growing food from my own garden, finding out the hard way just what NOT to do, I can assure you it really doesn’t need to be that way at all! With a bit of ingenuity and no more than about 5 hours per week or so, you should be able to produce a significant proportion of your fresh food needs from even a small garden.
Here you can learn about such things as organic vegetable gardening, edible herbs and flowers, fruit growing, eggs and poultry, home aquaculture and even beekeeping (when I eventually get it all written down). There is also information from the latest research into improving garden soil and even some garden ecology (which includes some of my own R&D projects, together with lots of gardening resources to help make the job easier. And I will be here too, as a guide to help you along whenever you need me.
Who am I? Just a humble country dirtdoctor who has spent many years walking around paddocks, helping farmers with all manner of problems. If you click here, you can see more details about my experience and qualifications.
The edible garden you develop will provide a high level of self-sufficiency, but it will also help reduce waste from your home and ensure you return to a healthy home environment every day. So enjoy your journey into food from the garden, together with the health and lifestyle benefits it brings.
