Garden soil testing tells you exactly what your soil needs

Garden soil testing should be detailed and accurate, but it must also be suitable for gardeners. This may sound obvious, but most soil tests are not.

The science of soil testing was first developed for farmers and although it works well, there are some important differences between farms and gardens.

Firstly, farmers tend to be interested in only one (or at most a few) plant types, while gardeners may care for dozens (or even hundreds). Secondly, farmers work with tons of fertilizer over acres of land, while most gardeners think in pounds and square feet.

However, the situation changed recently with the development of a new soil testing service tailored specifically to the needs of organic gardeners. This soil test is available through the Diggers Club in Australia, so for accurate garden soil testing, visit The Diggers Club website.
